Neck Pain & Chiropractic Care

Everyday our necks carry almost 12 pounds to support the head that is on top of it. In relevance, 12 pounds can be compared to the weight of a bowling ball, which is a hefty load to bear. It’s not only the weight of our heads being lifted upright, but the way we use our neck’s to rotate our head in every direction. This is impressive, however, over time it can lead to people having neck pain.

Neck pain isn’t only caused by the weight. There could be numerous other reasons for this pain or stress to be on your neck. One common cause of neck pain is injuries. If you fall or get in an accident such as a car crash you may have experienced some whiplash. This incident could injure the surrounding tissues that help to support the neck and head.

Other causes of neck pain that we often don’t consider is pain that stems from the way we choose to live our daily lives and how we age in general. Things such as sitting all day, having poor posture or body alignment, and a lack of a healthy diet and exercise regimen can also cause pain, tightness, and stress on your neck. In return, your neck will attempt to fix these issues and will tend to over compensate leaving your body hurt.

If you are feeling pain, tightness, or strain on your neck, a great place to start is by heading to Postier Chiropractic to get examined by a professional. They will also be able to offer you expert advice, scans or x-rays, and neck adjustments. After this you can talk to Dr. Postier to find out what type of additional treatments or plans that would be most suitable for your body so that you can get back to feeling your best again.
